Presentation of the award Diver of Honour 2023, the highest distinction awarded by the Spanish Association for the History of Diving.HDSES. Alberto Vázquez-Figueroa (Spain), (1936) - Prolific writer, journalist, inventor and adventurer. One of the first diving instructors who served on board the training ship "Southern Cross" and who took part in the difficult underwater rescue in the tragedy of the Ribadelago dam break in 1959. Author of, among many other titles inspired by the sea, "Under seven seas. Long Voyage to Paradise (1962)", a cult story among divers, based on his own experiences around the world.
